Hindu Aid UK Successfully Delivers Community Relief and Livelihood Rehabilitation Programme in Barishal, Bangladesh

Hindu Aid UK successfully conducted a Community Relief and Livelihood Rehabilitation Programme on 3 July 2026 at Amritangon, Barishal, Bangladesh, reaffirming its commitment to supporting vulnerable families through both humanitarian assistance and sustainable community development.
The programme was organised in collaboration with Sanatani Vidyarthi Sangsad and was presented by Ujjal Debnath.
The event commenced with a sacred Bhagavad Gita recitation by Shornil Shorgo Maitra, setting a spiritual tone for the programme. This was followed by a devotional bhajan performed by Shuchishmita Maitra, Youth Coordinator of Hindu Aid UK, accompanied on guitar by Shornil Shorgo Maitra.

The audience was then addressed by Manik Mukherjee and Mukul Chandra Mukherjee, who spoke about the importance of unity, compassion, and collective responsibility in serving society, while reaffirming their support for Hindu Aid UK and its humanitarian mission.
Following the formal programme, Hindu Aid UK carried out the distribution of humanitarian assistance.
As part of the relief initiative, 16 vulnerable families received ration boxes containing essential food supplies, including rice, lentils, onions, and other staple household necessities, helping to ease immediate financial hardship.
Alongside emergency relief, Hindu Aid UK also implemented a Livelihood Rehabilitation Programme aimed at promoting long-term financial independence. Two families received stock and essential supplies to strengthen their existing small businesses, while one family was provided with a sewing machine to establish a sustainable source of income.
Speaking on behalf of Hindu Aid UK, Shuchishmita Maitra, Youth Coordinator, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to serving vulnerable communities through initiatives that combine compassionate humanitarian relief with sustainable community development, enabling families not only to overcome immediate challenges but also to build a more secure future.
